well after being a really disgruntled customer for this product, I have to now eat humble pie, As stated by Bell auto, BBS have now issued a free upgrade that apparently fixes the bugs with the pre BBS nanocom Evo units. This is available from the nanocom website ( in the secure section) with good instructions on how to perform the upgrade.

All I wanted has been done, so I have to recant my earlier remarks about the support available to those that purchased this unit in the weeks before BBS took over the company, I haven't as yet been able to test the new software, so I am going on reports from the DefenderII website.

Still wish that the histrionics that were apparent earlier on in the year hadn't happened, as it showed poor judgement and gave a really bad taste to any news from BBs. It certainly put a downer on my expectations for the future. When a company owner effectively says to his customers F**k off your all a bunch off Wan**rs...not the literal translation...but correct in spirit...will always be an indication of the mind set that prevails.

That said the fact that a new "Improved" update is available speaks volumes.....note that although it was announced on the defender website, no such tread was posted here. so I guess BBSGUY is sticking to his word and the silence from Bell auto may be indicative of his compliance with this feeling. Shame as I regard this as one of the best Landie Forums, his loss. I myself am a bit happier even with a good mouthfull of humble pie.

Glad it is sorted, colin should never have launched a personal attack when you pointed out issue-talking of which bell auto's has disappeared from his regular postings.

I wonder when we will see a non product related post from him.

yep it does seem to be rather quiet, hope this isn't regarded as spam, as I still think the way BBS handled the situation was extremely poor, and I for one would never use any of their products again...But that's my personal view....this upgrade is welcome...but all it gives me is a unit that does what it said it would do 9 months ago when I purchased it. Who needs this sort off CR*P.. But the other thing that got up my back was BBSGUY acting as an impartial referee and recommending this and extolling its virtues( made more effective as he was the competition) only to find he was just promoting his own product, then to be told to S*D off was icing on the cake. hence my active discouragement off anyone wanting to buy BBS gear. and who knows...maybe the bad press got this upgrade released....But time to put it to bed....not being cynical...Just in time for Christmas...lol

Cheers Fanatic

I'm pleased to hear that the upgrade has gone ahead. As you say, It's just a shame it's taken this long to sort it out and also the way people who bought the evo were left feeling.

Hopefully lessons have been learnt and the customer satisfaction will improve.

I agree, lets go forward positively and see how things progress.
