Hi Guys. going to the Land Rover heritage junket at the Heritage motor Centre next year - hopefully in the run from Solihull to Gaydon.

I feel the need to dangle a flag off me 110 - I want a pole about 8 foot tall, and I want to temporarily attach it to my front bumper.

any ideas what sort of pole? would wood snap? is steel too heavy? is carbon fibre too weak?

where do I source a pole?

how do I attach it?

Is it possible for erm... cheap?

Is there any chance I could end up in trouble with the rozzers?

anyone got any ideas?

Get a cheap carp pole from ya local angling shop. yu can extend it as tall as yu want then. just use gaffer tape to stop the sections from sliding back down. and cable ties to fix the flag to it.

Most of the flags I've seen at boot sales/shows etc. to identify particular stands are fibreglass, mostly cheapo fishing poles. Not sure how you'd fix it to bumper tho. A fibreglass CB whip would be another option and then use a static roof type mount, only fit it to bumper. Not sure what the bill would have to say about it as long as it doesn't endanger other road users.

25mm glav conduit, fix to front bumper with two bits of 10mm studding bent into a U, with washers and nuts. comes in 3m lenghts so you could cut to suit, or just unbolt it for driving on the road, and refix it as and when
