Landy*

Right well I got this home on new years eve much to my dads dismay, never had a land rover before so didn't really know what to expect, I was intending on just putting some new tyres on sorting out the brakes and driving it, but. Got a bit Kwan with stripping it apart and have ended up with a full blown project, anyway, I will let the pictures do the talking :)

Are you putting a new bulk head on it?
Chassis looks in good condition though - always a bonus.

Should be good when it's done :)

Oh, and :welcome2:

Yea I'm on the look out for a new bulk head at the moment, Is it possible for me to buy a brand new one from somewhere? Or will I have to just try and find one that's got less rot than mine?

I recall seeing an oem bulkhead on Dunsfold LR's website - about £1700 if I remember correctly. You can get a refurbished and galvanised one from Ashtree LR for £1120.

Looks like you're having some fun there - keep up the posts! I get the feeling you're no novice though?! Not even a Haynes Resto manual in sight. :)

Cheers I will defiantly look into both of those!

And to tell you the truth I have never done anything this drastic before, my previos cars have had a bit of body work down and the suspension changed that's about as far as my skills go so this is all just one big learning curve! :)

So after a bit of searching I found my self a fairly decent bulk head, picked it up on Monday and on the same day I also brought a 200 tdi engine to put in it also came with the down pipe to fit it so I'm off next week and I pretty much have all the bits now I think, so all being well me and my mate are going to try our best to get this thing all back together and on the road, I will get some pictures and keep you up dated as it goes :)

looking good, ive just started repairing my bulkhead on my s3 109 cos im too tight to pay the daft prices people are charging for them. plus my wife would start chopping bits off if i spend any more money on my landy. you must have a very understanding family

keep the pics comming and check out my thread "i think i have bitten off more than i can chew"

Nice job on the drums. I just wire brushed the loose stuff and cover with hammerite. I suspect yours will look better for longer.

Oooo and we have matching engine cranes; don't think that makes us related or anything.
