New to Series ownership so sorry if this is general knowledge in the community.

Being a 6’2”, 19 stone ex rugby player and now in my sixties the lack of leg room was a real pain. I was getting used to it but it still took away from the great fun I am having with my new toy. I read as many posts as possible and did not find a solution short of major bulkhead surgery.

I decided to take out the seat back as an experiment. Just two bolts. The result is the perfect driving position for me. I can change gear, brake and accelerate without taking my heels off the floor and the accelerator foot position is comfortable for long periods.

Not too uncomfortable on the back for the short distances I normally do. I have ordered a thin black pvc pad on eBay to put on the back for a bit more comfort and to look better visually.

Yes SWB and you are right about people being bigger. My Father was 5”10” and was regarded as tall when he was a young man.

Your solution is simple and fine if its just you driving.
There is such a thing as "bulkhead removal bar" You chop down the bulkhead and the shaped bar fits lower down to maintain structural stiffness of tub allowing a sliding seat more reward travel.

Easy fix, mine has failed MOT in the past with the seat backs not had the little leather straps secured to rear bulkhead, so your thin pads need to be either fixed or swap in the originals and fix for MOT time if it still gets them
