My sad sad day.....

Got the news today that the crank shaft has gone through the sump, due to overheated piston...... RIP. My 110 is the love of my life and does eveything, carrys kids/dog, carts loads inside and on top, tows pushes the lot!! Have spent the day trying to get hands on new engine.....ouch the ££££££ !!!
There does not seem to be a new engine available anywhere in Cornwall........ nor does there seem to be garage willing to help.... they all talk about Jack....the write off supplier,does anyone know of this Jack???

Oop ello again!!! Like i sed to yer afore, TAKE IT TO JO at DP on bodmin moor, he'll see yer good! Is it a 200 or 300? You sure Jack int summat to do with combellack or is it jack Orchard? (BEWARE!!!)

ummmmm if i was you i would do it yourself as its the only feasable in money terms option rearly what engine was it running

Buy a rusty old MOT failure Disco for about £250, swap engines, sorted.

96 300 TDI at present sitting at a garage in wadebridge

not that simple surley its not a direct straight swap? what else would I need to take off the old engine?
As for doing it myself......I am (sadly) a bit of a dizzy girlie, happy to getmy hands dirty but hoisting an engine, taking it to bits to replace.......aaaaagggghhhhhh

A disco 300 (plenty about) is EXACTLY the same as a defender one so yes, a straight swap.

ps mick is reputable and should be able to find you a good un, speshly as yer his favourite customer and it's there at the mo!

St Austell way (Combellack is a scrappy at Roche and orchard is at (amongst other places) bodelva way (trethurgy - hallaze way) - but mick should find you one! What's your budget?

£1500 second hand engine fitted, new rear cross member and MOT........ just cant commit to the job or get hands on an engine....could be weeks, months......
