than I thought.

If you remember my thread about the diff going on the 8/12/14 and getting it back on the 23/1/15, it was mighty powerful emotive reading but besides the locking up of the diff due to no oil, it must have been making me use more fuel as well! I suppose that makes sense as if you think about it, the more the diff was starting to seize, the harder the engine was working so more fuel was needed.

I only say this because when I got the car, I used to tinker with all the gadgets including the trip computers etc. I love gadgets which was part of my love with Landys but after HolidayChicken explaining not using the sunroof unless he's drowing I have been thinking twice!!!

With LPG dropping a little around me, I've not been bothering too much about how many lights were going out etc before I filled up as the rule I used was when I first got the car, I got 57 miles before the first light went out. Now I know LPG gauges are about as accurate as <insert own gag here, I can't think of one> but the 57 miles thing was kinda my goal for future top ups. Each time after this it was getting lower and lower until I was hitting 51-52 miles.

Now last week I topped up and set the trip computer on the 57 mile guesstimate and it passed it and kept going, and going and going. The light went out yesterday at ..... drum roll ........ 80 miles!!!! That diff must have been really dragging. I reset the consumption last night on my way home which is mostly flat along Morecambe prom with only a couple of slight hilly bits and I was peaking at around 18.3 MPG dropping to 15.5 with stop starts at the lights and crossing which I thought was great. I landed back on my drive at 16.8. Knock off roughly 15% for being on gas and I have to admit that I'm pretty damn chuffed at that.

Factor in that I gave a lift to a work colleague yesterday and his fat bum on the passenger seat jolted my cd player into working again (different thread!) and it's a good time for me and my Rangie :clap2::clap2:
