Im planning on improving the overall performance of my 110 td5, bit by bit as i get the money, so stage one is gonna be de-catting and straight through mid pipe, getting a good deal from crozier 4x4 Downpipe (ex Cat) €108 Mid box replacement pipe €65 Carriage €15, for 304 stainless bits, my question is what kind of bhp increase can i expect? :D

Just changing the exhaust does not necessarily give you any more BHP on a diesel engine. However it will allow better breathing so that the turbo will spin up quicker giving better throttle pedal response. Also the exhaust manifold temperatures will be lower so you can then increase fueling by means of a modified ECU map which is what gives you the added power and torque.

Unlike a petrol engine you need as little back pressure as possible which the decat exhaust gives you. It also sounds better if thats what floats your boat.

You need to combine this with a decent air filter, intercooler, and increased turbo boost to get the most from the TD5. The TD5 ECU does not like turbo boost pressures above 1 bar so you will also need a black box to fool the ECU into thinking the turbo is boosting less than it really is. Otherwise the ECU will register "overboost" faults and switch to limp mode until you restart the engine.

Additionally for little or no cost you can remove the EGR valve that is a massive restriction in the inlet manifold and strangles combustion.
