Hi all

I picked up my first off roader yesterday. Very please with it. I've just got back from trying some local green lanes too! Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Spec:
2" Lift. With pro comp shocks and extended springs.
Dislocation cones.
Insa Sahara off road tyres.
Suspect but functional home made snorkel.

£975 with 12 months mot and 6 tax.

Pics of me out Laning this afternoon:-

Looks tidy.

I'd spray it black if it were mine though. :p

good find, you will have lots of fun in it when it works right lol

last week... front wheel bearings went, gear box oil and light stock all changed

this week... back right wheel bearing seal gone, speedo stopped working, fuel filter and service to do

the joys of land rover

Ha! You are right. I already have a noisy bearing (knew this when I bought it) and the gearbox gets worse as it gets warmer, like nothing i've ever seen before!! I have a thread going about what to do, but did you use a guide when you changed the gear oil. Is it easy or tough?

soo.... a noisy bearing and it has 12 month MOT?

I would be checking all the usual spots for rust, wonder what else the MOT man "didnt see"?

Hi mate

Thanks for your reply. To be honest, the guy who sold it to me runs a body shop, so has all the right gear for replacing rusty bits and spraying up. It's quite sound from that respect. Arches are solid and rear boot floor is new.

I don't think the MOT is dodgy, as it has advised two other what I would consider "trivial" faults listed. One being rust near offside headlamp, which is fist-sized and the other being a slight play in that noisey wheel bearing I mentioned. ;)

:D

Just a quick hello to you all and to say that from now on i shall be residing in the Discovery owners area as as i have just bought a very nice Discovery 2 V8 instead of another Range Rover p38.

Hopefully i won't need too much advice.

Happy Wednesday, Nick.

Seems a bargain for fun, enjoy the green lanes and keep an eye on the bearings.should be ok once worked on. have fun with the work,an lanes.
