my new one.....and its a v8 :D

hey guys, not been on here for a while, well actually since my 200tdi got nicked. iv been on the look out for a cheap one since but nothings popped up until this week..
i was once again scouring ebay and one stood out, it was about 15 miles away from me and a 3 door which is the main selling point plus it was a v8 and seems i dont have to travel far (about 2 miles if that) to work i thought it mught be managable.
So i messaged the seller and asked what the buy it now price is, and forgot all about it.
until the next day i checked my messages and there it was in all its glory.. the best message id ever recieved...£350 and hed deliver it for £20 obviously i bit his hand off and rang him to arrange delivery (i know this was a school boy error without hearing it run or even seeing it) but thats me and considering i work in a large (prob the largest in the country) i gathered id be able to source the parts to get it running...
soo the day came and the car was delivered at 1pm to my work but i couldnt get out to have a look i tried to start it after work but the lack of light and all the banter off the fellas in work means i left it until the next day.. so the car was towed away on fri night to the farm where it will be getting a new lease of life.. after about an hour looking over it, my mate had it up and running although the gearbox hasnt been tested yet as the master and slave need replacing but the engine runs sweet as a nut after we replaceed the spark plugs and ignition coil!
after work on sat we set too stripping the front down to asses the rust and its not as bad as some iv seen the passenger front body mount needing sorted but the drivers is solid some small patches on the inner archs and some plates here and there,... although the boot carpet hasnt been taken fully up yet from what i can see by lifting slightly and under the car the floor is 90% solid!! the sills need patching but they are going to be replaced by box section in the next week or so!

my last one was a 200 and i didnt like the headlights etc... but its growing on me. you been to cowm recently noisy? sure it was you that was there revving your tits off at the top part when i had my old 200??? ye they are getting few and far between espec in 3 door! luckily its my second 3 door

the ghetto decals are also reflective! super ghetto im like dr dre of my street!

ye thats when i went last! mine got nicked couple of days later seen your disco in the mag last month looks sweet! good finish on the paint seems you done it with a brush! im hoping mine will buff up ok once the welding is all finished and iv got them go faster stripes off!
any ideas how to get them off?

Cheers mate, yeah it is brushed! Was well worth doing too!

Urm, hair dryer the stickers and peel as you heat, will come off easy.

Hit the paint with some coarse compound, then a fine compound and then a good wax.

I did a ****ed H reg a while back and it turned out like new, good paint in them old days, nice and soft, ideal for polishing!

Cool should turn out nice when its done! Hopefully have it done for whm the snow comes! Got the clutch slave and master cylinders yesterday and also the fuel lines need replacing so picked that up aswell. Hoping to get back in it tonight now we've got a new bottle of gas!

Yeah I had to do my fuel lines a while back.

ok cheers matey, bit of an update... today in work we crushed a disco but before it went through the bailer i managed to get a winch bumper, near new terrafirma suspension lift with 2" spacers on also and a steering guard that fits onto the bumper and on another disco waiting to be rushed is a safari snorkel also on a v8 so should be a easy swap over!

You jammy sod! The only Disco bits I find are the bits that have fallen off onto my driveway

ha ha i am pretty lucky to work in probably THE biggest "salvage" yard in the country we get loads of good bits in the staff car park is full some interesting cars! its well and good getting the bits but o boy am i struggling to get insurance!

I am pretty lucky
The suspension looks less then a year old although the front shocks don't seem to have any resistance it doesn't seem right?? Ones pretty stiff and others one about as stiff as a pensioners little soldier! Any ideas?

It's ****ed then, unless they don't work upside down...?

Have to get some more got a set of old man emu? They any good? Also iv just done a post in general land river chat have a nosey and if your interested comment on it dee if its worth my while...
