How do you think organised gangs get them out? They don’t ask permission.

They can't get them out...you can't tow with another vehicle here...you can't put on trailer and tow with another vehicle...you can't put on a low loader as it has to be licenced as a business to be on the road...and you have to have all the vehicles papers with you at all times to show at the numerous GNR road checks and there are a lot they also pull you in petrol stations and carpark if they don't like the look of you...

And in this country you “can’t” steal things as that’s illegal too.

Do you honestly believe that Portugal has zero car crime because it’s “not allowed”???

I didn't mean it's not allowed to steal...you won't get far with a stolen vehicle without being pulled for the reasons given as you would stick out like a sore thumb and here you don't get a slap on the wrist you get put on remand till your case comes up...in 17yrs here I've never heard or read in the papers of any cars stolen broken into yes..

Do some google research. Drink driving and stolen vehicles combined made up 18% of ALL Algarves reported crimes for 2018. Seriously though, if you want to live in a dream world carry on believing these things don’t happen.

I think we have ****ed this thread enough already.

Done and fitted!

Im really pleased how it turned out. Thanks for all the help to guys.

Right then, how much do you charge for this here rebuild service of yours?

Oh and you want that nice thick black moly grease, quarrying man so you will find its the stuff we diggery drivers get issued by the box load, stuff i got now is JCB blue extreme pressure grease, few pumps of that regularly and those pins benefit from a smear of copper slip as they tend to rust and stick :(

Just braved the cold as i have some in my toolbox keeping my lifting chains company :)

Agreed just popped to do an hours work and guess what got stopped by GNR knew I shouldn't have mentioned roadside checks LOL..with wine at 70c a litre and a beer 1.50€ a bottle in a bar I know which way the 18% split is...

Anyhow great job on hitch as I said before... will do mine at some point..

Sorry pal i don't rent myself out.:)

@A1203 your link does not really compare to vehicles build threads on social media.
I'll put the kettle on if you want to track my 101 down and you can tell me how you plan to get it out of Portugal..lol
That link is all about social media sites
I wouldn't want to get your 101 out of Portugal. I could fancy a couple of the doors though ;) :D
