I'd buy a few for a couple of quid each.

All of the people don't think the same as you. I put a few up on different country eBay's to get an idea of what they may be worth. They have been up four days - Belgium has no bids at EUR 0.99, Holland has one bid at EUR 0.99 and the UK has 6 bids at 8.50. The US, Australia, Germany, and Austria fall somewhere in between.

Any price right now would be a loss because we built a tool and formed so few pieces but I am looking at the future potential.

The final price would depend mostly on how many nests I build on the tool.

so what are you intending to send the people who have now bid on the item ?

what happens if you get more than 12 orders ? - telling people they will have to wait for 12 weeks while you get tooled up isnt going to win you any friends

Exactly G-Man - I have my single tool finished and made 25 pieces of which 20 were in perfect condition. I gave one to everyone who allowed me to test it on their vehicles and of the remaining 12 put 'only 7' up on eBay worldwide.

I am expecting sample material from 3 different companies and if they each send me the requested 1 x 2 meter sheet I could make up to 90 more.

the problem with ideas such as this is that you have to be ready to shift LOTS of them quickly in bulk orders for it to be worthwhile, unless your happy stuffing single items into jiffy bags all day - and now that you've advertised it there's bound to be someone who does have access to cheap production facility's who is likely to be pondering copying it - scrapiron appear to have built a business based on copying other peoples products

we used to be able to send a prototype complex turned/milled part to china and have production sample quanties returned within 2 weeks

i still think you'd be better off out sourcing the whole tooling/production cycle to china/macau - that'll cost you a few quid but i bet it'll be close to what you'll be spending on your time sourcing sample materials and hand making them in very small numbers

who needs dragons den when you've got LZ

ffs ratty he was lookin for help and advise i have been talkin to him via PM

ratty is right, it was spam and should have been deleted, the post that has been deleted wasnt asking for help it was trying to sell something

the problem is that there are so few mods that a thread such as this is going to take a while to be sorted (cos even mods have jobs) and by then it's sorta delivered into a vaguely interesting thread

creative market research i thought and at least landy related unlike the usual fookin spam, world of ****craft and ****ty trainers innit

how could he have beent trying to sell them hes only got 12 of them.

I rekon he was after some input as to the market value of them buy saying 'ere... will you buy these?'

And, as it stands, I still cant find them in the for sale suction, where are they?

I wanted to show them to a mate to ask his opinion!

Besides, im sure it has created a great impression on the bloke for his first post to not only be removed but to be edited with a stupid comment in huge size in red!
