The engine, sadly, is steaming. Lost most of the water yesterday 40 mile trip. Can't see any obvious water leaks, am running it now and fan hasn't started yet, though should be warmed up, but temp gauge not moved from bottom either, could it be connected with fact it takes ages to warm up when the heater is on? thermostat?

what's the HG thingy?

Thanks for reply so fast.

Thanks so much for advice chaps. Clever you mad hat man you were about 5mm from the prob. Cut in otherwise non-perished three way rubber hose at thermostat mounting, my brother found it. Suspect when local land rover dealer did glow plugs that they did that since pipe needs removed for the glow plug that's behind it. Not saying which dealer, but look at my location for a clue!!

They not best pleased when I suggested they may like to put it right...

Now, this might be pushing my luck, but, should the glow plugs stay on even when the glow plug light is off??

glow plug light goes out after 4 sec, have timed it, but glow plugs on for 30 sec and gave up counting:confused::confused::confused:
