HI:
I am new. Bought this Freelander V6 2001 from a student. This car constantly lost coolant for about a year. I didn't take good caution. Until one day I noticed milky bubble in the water tank and frequently engine cuts off. I know that would be a big problem.
I took it to a dealer. They ask me to get a new engine which cost much higher than the cost I bought it. Then I took it to a local mechanics and after he checked. He said my head gasket has no problem. He find the intake manifold has leak and he changed my intake, put in a new water pump and changed the timing belt. Right now the car is running great. I tested it running 500KM over a mountain area. better than when I bought it.
But the milky bobbles still coming up in the water tank. There is no sign of white smoke and loss of power. I drove back to the mechanics and he did add something called 'cylinder block seal' into my water tank and let me see how it goes. The milky bobble still there.
I am not a experts. I don't want to be fooled by this mechanics. Fixing the intakes cost me a lot. I am just a student kids with some part-time money.
Hope anyone can give me any suggestion?
