I'm really hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction here as I am a complete novice unfortunately:confused: My Freelander took in a load of excess water through rusty sunroof between xmas and the new year and hasn't run since. I think the water ran straight over the roof of the car and into sunroof as since discovered the trickle vents over rear door were blocked plus my car had been left pointing downhill? I have this weekend replaced with new spark plugs (checked and all sparking) plus fuel is getting through and cam belt fine. I first realised something was adrift when i noticed my internal clock display had gone 'skew-wiffy' (poss water got in?) My mate towed me on sunday morning and the car started twice but both times as soon as I touched the accelerator it cut out with the battery light coming on. I know the battery was fully charged as had been charging for over 36 hours before trying to start it yesterday. I have sprayed all parts with WD40 and Coldstart as per the Haynes manual. Could anyone help me with ideas of what I could try next please? It's worth pointing out at this stage that it is an older Freelander (W reg) but is such a fantastic car with the real 'heart of a lion'. I miss my car and desperately would like it back on the road asap. Any ideas/advice will be very gratefully received, thanks, simplythebester (Nikki).:eek:
