Having just finished working on my FL1, trying to find out why the Fuel Station pumps kept tripping as I attempted to fill the tank, I discovered the fault.
As the filling-neck reaches the tank, there is a hose with two clips joining the two together. On the tank side of the hose, and just inside the tubing, there is a one way stop-valve. This is to prevent the possibility of fuel leeking from the tank in the case of an accident. This valve had come-apart and was partially blocking the piping. I removed the valve with a pair of long-nosed pliers, but was unable to locate the spring that should have been present. Its continued presence shouldn't be a problem.
Having also checked the breather-pipe was clear I put everything back together.
I then paid a visit to my local filling-station and the tank filled easily and without tripping once.
The offending valve.
