Hi
I have had this happen to me on another car i previously owned, i took the unit out and took it apart and ended up having to destroy the changer to get my discs back, the one that had slid across got damaged and didnt work anymore. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that was my experience of this. I ended up replacing the changer with a compatible alpine unit.

Took the changer out last night, and got the lid off. Couldn't see any easy way of getting the disk back. Reconnected the power, pushed the magazine hard in then pressed eject and the bloody thing sorted itself out. Why it wouldn't do that before I don't know. Hope you're just as lucky Burtonboy, apart from having to take your seat out!!!

Problem solved

I had a good look last night - looked about 50 mins job to take seat out and remove changer - so thought "right - one last go!" .

got an 8" aluminium drift & a hammer - gave each corner of the cassette a good knock (not a gentle tap or a "bits of plastic flying everywhere" whack ) but a good " right you bastard - last chance!!!" knock - pressed the green eject button & hey presto! out it came. :)

took out all cd's & trays gave good clean, polished edge of trays & guides on cassette with furniture polish to make sure they all slide nice & easy put lens cleaner through a few times - put everythin back in & so far it all works great.

so the moral of the story is

"if its sensitive electrical equipment & it don't work - **** it wiff a bit hammer" - PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME :D

dint you think it might be more down to your and yer technic?
ave done two jammed cd changers and only had one small spring fly away which i couldn't find so i put it back together without it and it still works fine.

just cos you couldn't dint mean others can't

probably more down to me not having enough patience with it and hating the fact that my shovel sized hands cant cope with tiny components in electrical goods. if it dont work after 10 mins of fiddling then it must be broke and needs to be hit hard with hammers and ripped to bits!!!!!!!!
