:)Hi everyone, got my first landy today, sIII swb diesel, slow, noisy, smelly bumpy, brilliant !. I,m used to a mazda mx5 so its been a bit of a shock so if anyone has any hints or tips i,d love to hear them, the more the merrier eh, cheers

2 decent ice scrapers one fer inside and one fer outside lol and a blowlamp in the porch fer when the door locks freeze up in winter
 
earplugs check, found that out the hard way on the drive home,toolboxcheck, i turn spanners for a living( think i might need some new one,s tho, all these daft old money size,s ) i,ll give the cigars a miss, i,ll let my landy do the smoking,and as for the latex i have loads of them but i,m like that!

on a more serious note, get the choke cable knob for the fuel cut off. first thing you do on an older motor is pull the choke out.
if anyone remembers what one of them is.......
 
Well got my local landy xpert to give it the once over today, told me there,s a bit of play in the n/s front w/bearing, the spline,s are a bit worn in the prop sliding joints and it needs waxoiling, other than that i,v got a bargin and to go away and play nice. . . . . result !

:)think you could be right, said i wasnt going to do a thing with it(got about £7000 in my 1989 mx5 !) but allready fancy some fancy new springs and shox, not going to do much with the outside tho, gonna let it wear its battle scars with pride, ( do fancy some black n silver plates tho, i no it wont be legal but life,s just to short, anyone had any hassle doing this ? ) cheers

Dont forget a couple of those windscreen washers that light up blue on the bonnet, I think they work with the old type manual push and squirt washers.

Well it seems what I thought as a full toolbox of mine isnt, I dont have any cigars, what type of cigars should I get seeing as my series has had a couple of sexchanges to disco and defender.

slow burners for the old 2 1/4.
moved onto roll ups now, as got addicted to the taste of oil an diesel rolled into them as well.
spose when you get stumped with a problem, you could try some "insprational ones"
but not gone there:eek:
