My first landrover

Hi guys. My name is Peter. Im from Glenavy in the north of ireland. Ive just got meself a 1996 discovery. Never had one before although i have welded a few. It seems to drive well. No rattles or bangs. Pulls well. BUT. Theres a bit of a crunch when selecting 3rd gear. If i let the revs go down before putting into 3rd its ok. But when driving normal and selecting 3rd theres a bit a crunching going on.
Any ideas?
Anything to worry about??
