Since the last pic I've welded all the inside joins so will get it back on in the next couple days to make some more so it actually looks like a bumper again,I have also done some servicing to the old Landu aswell with new plugs,ht leads, and new water pump with viscous clutch and aux belt on the way

ooh... do I smell a handmade winch bumper coming along? :D

I'm another (real) Mini owner, though I put a 90's carbed 1275 into my Thirty with leccy ignition and it ran really well for ages ...until the drop gears ate themselves :(
Now it's in bits (again) and has been for the last few years... Really starting to miss driving the old girl!

Yep you sure do, I wanted the winch as far back and as high as poss without moving any of the air con pipes or trans cooler oh and I was not prepared to pay like £500 for one lol so out came the welder again plus I enjoy it.
Yeah there great fun cars and iv had mine from when I was learning to drive so it's a little sentimental now but mines has a 1293cc metro turbo cam, big valve head ported and polished, x pin diff and side draft Webber but that's the engine it has for now after I changed my mind half way through fitting a h22 vtec engine lol

This pic shows how I welded the plates then cut the shape I wanted afterwords

Slightly side view to show that this bumper actually doesn't stick out too far but as you can see the ends still need capping off but they will also wrap around to where the wing goes into the wheelarch

Ok guys it's come down to this, I love driving this truck but the fuel bill is getting rediculas with running this and a v8 pro street capri and I ain't selling the capri so it boils down to either I sell the truck or I change the engine. So just bought a rotted out 200tdi to swap engine and box and it's going manual. What can I do to that little motor to make it have a bit more poke?

Oh so also to mention a low mileage (73000) 3.9 multipoint injection engine all running spot on will be listed on eBay in a couple of days and will be in the truck till it sells so it can be seen running. Zf auto box also going on the bay after.

Is that a cheeky l'ill ad.................LOL

Cheers

Ok so been away from here for a whike but been very busy with the truck, engine swap is all done and she is back up and running on the road again. My weekly fuel bill has gone from £60 to £35 so that’s a big thumbs up for the 200tdi swap but was mega disappointed at first with performance so I bought a boot pin and when I came to fit it I noticed that the previous owner of the 200tdi had turned the boost pin to maximum fuel economy so very little kick from the boost so fitted the new one and wound the pump back a couple of clicks and although not as fast as it was with the v8 I am more than happy specially with the fuel bill lol. Also fitted som terrafirma diff guards and got some more work done to the bumper, will try and get some pics for you all this weekend ( weather is rubbish)
