Surely the same tyre on different rim widths has an effect and the wider the rim the smaller the sidewall bulge. That is why the silly boy racers and their ‘stretched’ tyres look so terrible:

Don't really know much about that kind of tyre. And to be honest, if I have a vehicle with a tyre on the bonnet, I take it off, it is always trouble.
From what I have seen, the sizes on the sidewall make little difference, if you measure tyres, they are quite different sizes with different makes of tyres, even if the writing says they are the same.

What @tottot says about the bonnets is also accurate.

But overall, theory is OK, but in practice, the tyre is rubbing on the bonnet, so you will have to sort it out.

So I spent this morning drilling holes in me bonnet

Looks good:).

So have you managed to try out your previous theory about about extremity extensions and their ability to do what you hope;).

When I was young and strong I had 7.50 Firestone SAT's fitted on my 69 2a including spare on bonnet. One day I failed to prop the bonnet properly. I still have a scar on my back where the bonnet pin dug in. Was a struggle to get free as was on my own.

Ouch!!. I only had my wheel mounted on the bonnet for a few days. Bugger that for a laugh.
