My Adrian Flux/ULR insurance claim woes!

They're not the cheapest I have to admit, two landies is pricey but they've an office up the road and nice bunch in there

I'm with the NFU too and couldn't agree more with the above comment. We have our Disco 2 and house insurance with them too. Recently the roof of our house blew of in April of last year, went into the office to enquire on how to claim, and right away they said get it fixed asap with any reputable builder and we will pay up minus my excess. Had a new roof up in a month and they paid the builder direct. Quick, easy and no fuss. That what I like and that's how it should be!

Wow... our header tank went over 3 months ago now, today the builders finally came in to take some panalling off a wall to help it dry, but, that's all, it's a daily fight to be getting things done

Just read through this, i was contemplating insuring my soft dash
with AF with an agreed value policy when its finished being restored but
will look elsewhere now

Anyone heard anything bad about Footman James, they are offering me
an agreed value policy

Some companies refuse to cover you if you're on a green lane, however some companies do stipulate that you are covered for green lanes.

In what way does in not exist?

Refuse to cover you for what? Third party liability on a public highway?

Or damage to your own vehicle if you are thought to have deliberately driven it into a tree? Which they wouldn't cover you for if you did it on your local high street.

I used to be insured through Admiral and they stated that green laning wasn't covered on my policy.

I've crashed a vehicle into a piece of street furniture when I was younger, although it wasn't deliberate, how could they prove it was?
They would still have to cover me for it wouldn't they? If I drove into a tree on purpose on a lane, how could they prove that it was deliberate and therefore not pay out?

Ok. Im now in a position that im considering buying my first disco and, as such, shopping around for insurance. The only people that I had heard of were Adrian Flux, then I remembered this thread. NFU won't insure me as I don't have any other policies with them!?!
So, any suggestions as to who would be good to cover a 1994 disco 1?

Just because you have read a few bad reports about AF,does not mean they are necessarily a bad insurer, look on any insurance forum and you will find problems with them all,i am insured with AF,no probs up to now,in fact they have been very helpful in all my insurance matters.

Don't understand this, I'm insured with NFU, no other policy with them and no problems. Maybe try with another office?
