My Adrian Flux/ULR insurance claim woes!

I've just read is entire thread and find myself immensely disillusioned with AF. Firstly, I think both Fanny and MHM deserve praise for all of their support and assistance in dealing with this long winded and drawn out claim.

Secondly, I would've expected AF to have instigated an offer of further assistance by way of negotiating and independent adjudicator to review the associated claim. As the broker they have a duty of care to ensure that the product they are facilitating is fit for its purpose, and where it is not they are then liable to meet the the total cost. What I fear has happened here is that AF has sold a policy unfit for purpose and have actively disassociated themselves from any blaim. In doing so they have encouraged a great many LR owners to avoid them.

I would personally like to know from Jorden, what measures AF have implemented to prevent a similar situation from re-occurring.?! What assurance will AF provide to show prospective customers AF accepts some accountability for allowing a situation like this from occurring in the first place.

I understand the need for LZ to generate financial support byway of offering sponsorship space. Nonetheless I am deeply concerned that A&R are comfortabl with the idea of allowing a company promoting such poor/neglectful practice. I think it shows LZ in a very poor light.

I will not be employing AF to insure any of my vehicles. From now on I will actively promote the poor handling of this claim on FB, youtube and many other forums including, VolksZone and many other classic car forums.

will you be looking into all the other insurance company's,and putting your findings on the same media.

Nope, but I'm happy to proceed with AF as I experienced a very similar issue with AF two years ago. The level of serveice became so poor that on one of my calls I politely asked to speak to a Manager or team leader, the lady refused and put phone down. I immediately called back to complain and was informed that there was nothing logged on the screen indicating that I had spoken to anyone, effectively insinuating that I had fabricated the story.

I feel I'm quite within my rights to publishes poor service don't you.?! I will go even further and actively promote Lancaster Insurance who have been far superior in my experiences.

Do you think it's wrong to communicate poor inadequate service.?! :edit:

no,but why have you waited so long to complain about your issue,as the poppy one is nothing to do with anyone else,is it.if you are not happy, then fair enough, but to complain on someone else's behalf, when they have not asked you to,is not right.

But I'm not complaining on somebody else's behalf.?! I complained at the time and and was eventually reimbursed but not compensated for stress or phone calls. Unfortunately I'm not as savy as MHM & Fanny and would've beenifited enormously from their support and assistance.

But again I don't honestly see what's wrong with ensuring folks are made aware of companies poor practices by publicising the link to this thread.?! (I'm not sure where you've got complaining about somebody else from). I might be wrong and stand corrected if I am, but I firmly believe in the word of mouth and appreciate to hear about poor service and intimidation. It's easy enough to view nice shiny advertesments.

but you said your issue was two years ago,i think, why not complain before,or post it on other forums, why not look at tesco's shopping issues and complain about them.complain about your problems by all means, but this one is up the poppy to do,if she so wishes.

John I can see where you're coming from and I'm genuinely not trying to be awkward. My case was dealt with two years ago and I had a good old moan at the time, nothing major just a bit of a grumble to the wife. Tonight I've just read this entire thread and I am honestly appalled. Given my experience and then having read this I feel I would be doing others a disservice by not allowing them the opportunity to read about the issues raised within this thread. It is for each individual to make their own minds up, but I think it's only fair that they have all the information before making a decision. Some of Fannys post spoke volumes, and I only wished that I had someone as confident assisting me. Insurance companies can be extremely intimidating.

neither am I,i am just giving my opinion, but this has now been dealt with, maybe not to everyone's satisfaction, but it has been sorted, you as a third party who have nothing whatsoever to do with the case, now want to tell all and sundry your opinion on AF,would you have done this if you had not had any issue's with them?

Possibly not, I may have put it down to a one off! But as I too experienced issues it raises alarm bells. It's not up to me to tell people not to go with AF, however I do think it's important that others are made aware such cases. I do this by providing a link and allowing them to make their own interpretation. If you were about to take out a policy with AF would you not prefer to know of this case before deciding whether to proceed or not, I certainly would.

That's incorrect, it's not my opinion, I'm posting a link to this thread to allow others to make their own decision.

Well seeing as i knew about this issue from the start,i still took out my D2 policy with them, they could not have been more helpfull if they tried, they even gave me a quote for one of my other cars, and they even mirrored my no claims policy so that i had full no claims on that one also.no other company said they would do that, believe me i tried.I take anyone and anything at face value,if it goes wrong then that is something i will sort out myself, plus how many thousands of policy's have they issued and all went well?

Exactly that's my point, you were aware of it, you had all the information and still decided to proceed and appear very pleased - Good stuff! All I'm saying is that others should be made aware (as you were) before deciding, if they to decide to proceed excellent, whereas someone else may interpret what happened too risky and go elsewhere - it's there choice and their decision based on all the information they have at hand. If I was to ask you to recommend an insure, I suspect you'd recommend AF, if you were to ask me, I'd recommend Lancaster.!!
I guess it's just two differing opinions, we just have to agree to disagree this time . ;) :)

But is it up to you,to post this issue from this forum, that has nothing whatsoever to do with you,and spread it about on other forums, websites etc,are there any legal implications?.You could find yourself with more than you bargained for.As for recommending them,on here i might,on any other place i would say nothing. But it is your choice, but personally i think you should leave well alone.:p:D

I dont see what your problem with LF actions , he is as he says just facilitating peoples research , informed choice is the modern phrase I believe . Looks like his suggestion to agree to disagree seems the logical outcome , as both of you have valid points of view. From experience i have found that the bigger customer you are with brokers the better the service they give , even to the point where they come to see you when policy renewals are due! I am now no longer in that privileged position , and use NFU , via a particular branch, yes a little dearer than the average , but I value what they give me in return. JMHO

Tend to agree with you, gems.

Just had a look a the op in this thread, don't want to waste time reading the lot, but I would make these points:

Adrian flux are an insurance broker. They find the cheapest quote from the underwriters they use and take a commission. The policy is with the underwriter.

Asking to use his own garage for repairs was a mistake. The insurer should reasonably expect at least 3 quotes for the work including one from their preferred body shop.

The car could have been taken away and fixed with no fuss.

You do not know the story. You do not know what you are talking about. I do.

Read up on it now and stand by what I said.
Poppy is not satisfied with the service she received from flux and that's fair enough but it was an entirely avoidable scenario.

Just think Adrian flux are getting slagged off quite a bit here while the insurance company and 3rd party insurer aren't even named.

You are not aware of the full facts of this claim, we did not post all the details for legal reasons which may have affected the claims, the reported posts here were drastically watered down to keep people informed who asked.
This was not an 'avoidable situation' and you can't have read the entire thread or you would have seen who the underwriting was done by.
The purpose of this thread was to inform people of the systematic avoidance of responsibility from insurance broker to claims handler, and their inability to support their customers during a non fault claim. Making assurances and promises that were it would seem figments of their own convoluted imagination. This unfortunately works to the detriment of a claimant who is being shoved from pillar to post.
