Hi all, new member, hope someone can help me out.
I'll try to give as much detail as I can as the symptoms seem quite strange to me.

It's a 2003 tdi freelander.
As I was driving I lowered the passenger window and it stopped after about an inch.
Arrived at my destination and rear door wouldn't open then discovered that the central locking, interior lights, all electric windows and radio not working. Central locking via key fob and the button on the dash not doing anything.
Engine turns over after about 1 second pause but will not run.

I checked every fuse I could find in car and under the bonnet, all ok.

Break down truck got it to fire using easystart but then it stopped again. Fuel is being pumped he thinks but did say there's not a lot of pressure so he concluded that it might be related to the fuel pump. However I can't see how that would effect the other items.

Please advise where I might start to source the problem and remedy it, would be greatly appreciated.
Note: we can't currently afford garage bills, hence wanting to do what I can myself.

Most of things that have stopped working are controlled or powered by the Central Control Unit (CCU), so that could have an issue. Can you hear the fuel pump running at the driver's side rear wheel arch?

I removed the CCU, the box behind the drivers side fuse box. Cleaned the contacts which were in good condition, but no change apart from now it won't turn over at all.

Due to finances I am thinking of getting a cheap run around and breaking the freelander for spares, unless someone cam suggest a simple fix.

Thoughts appreciated.
Tia.

Definitely does sound like the CCU.

I recon the CCU will be the death of my Freelander eventually. There seems to be a lot of moisture on the metal bracketry round the fuse box area, sure it will drop on/in to the CCU and fuse box.

Thanks All.
The battery is in good health and the earth points were checked and appear fine. All checked by the breakdown chap.

I've more or less confined it to the breakers yard now, as I desperately need wheels and am going to look at a little run about later today.

I really do appreciate everyone's help and wish you all well.

Regards
Andrew
