got this in nov last year and since getting it it has had a problem with the rev counter ..at tick over or while driving the rev counter bounces by about 500/700 rpm even if your on motorway at a steady road and engine speed.
got me completely beat have any of you had/fixed this fault
 
check the spade connector on the back of the alternator, pull it off clean it and I bet it will cure your problem.

The rev counter gets its fead from a wire to alternator make sure its got a clean connection?
 
It's fed by a wire from the alternator, check the contacts on the alternator and make sure they are clean and not corroded.

I'm sure more knowledgable chaps will be along with more info

yu sure it aint the alternator :behindsofa:
chuffin well hope not !!! only had it since nov last year and allready p,d off spending on it .3 brake downs while away from home
had ;
new tank sender unit [broke down]
new clutch slave cyl [broke down]
new battery
new starter motor [broke down]
new oil seperator/breather thingy on rocker cover inc new pipes to it
2 second hand central locking motors
new rear wiper motor
and a full engine service
 
should be good to go now then :5bdriving:
LOL....
you would think so but just found out needs swivel pin and bearings replaced.
as when i took it my local 4x4 garage they checked/adjusted wheel bearing on N/S/F and found that it needs doing :(:(:( so may aswell get him to put new wheel bearing kit in at same time .....:censored::censored:
 
blown diode on field winding.
it'll still charge, but not as well.
budget for another for when more diodes pack up and it stops charging.
ignore the rev counter.
oh, and check the connections.
