mpg difference

Before I splash the cash, what difference in mpg is there from a 2.5N/A to a 200TDi? I do a lot of mileage...25,000 a year, just trying to do the maths...I get 28mpg now (over here its 6 miles per litre so i should be close saying 28)..what can i expect from a complete renovated 200TDi coupled to my LT77 gearbox or should i change this too? Mark

change the transfer box to a Disco one - Discos can achieve 36 to the gallon.

My 110 with the old 2.5TD got about 20-25mpg.
My 110 with the Disco 200Tdi with the Defender transfer box is getting 35-ish and a fair bit more if you sit at 65mph on a motorway and are gentle on the throttle.
If I put in the Disco transfer box it will probably go higher than that.

Was getting 22 in my TD, now getting 28 in the 200tdi. This is to and from work on country road with M/T on.
