Hi all
Can anyone please tell me what the mpg is of an auto 300tdi, i know it depends on how one drives, but just a general idea??

A lot less than my 200tdi manual !
I've not had it long so to early to tell you, but the wife is only useing it around town. It's only doing about 23/24, but my 90 will do 28/30 round town.
Still i could always use a push bike

My manual does ~25 to 30 overall. Long runs easily 32-35 mpg, towing the caravan drops to 20-23. Mates Auto gets way less than that, drop about 5 mpg each situation. His best ever mpg on a long motorway run at 55mph was 31, lowest was into the teens ...!

dont know the MPG figures (would be appreciated if somebody could work them out for me:confused:) but from a full to the brim tank of fuel to the qtr tank mark i get 300 miles. this is mostly town driving, if i do a days green laning i can get about 90 miles to an 8th of a tank but soon as i get back onto the roads the next 90 miles use a qtr of a tank.

i have noticed im using ALOT more fuel since i put the Insa tyres and other bits on, lost about 100 miles to a tank of fuel due to tyres and the front bumper spoiler being removed.

Ive had both a 300tdi auto and a 300tdi manual, admitidly I didnt actually use the auto much before breaking it up due to rust, but it only seemed to do about 22mpg average 'A' road driving, the manual that I have now is a hec of alot better, Im continually getting 27-29mpg's out of it doing max of 5 mile 'B' road journeys, and alot of around town work, Not done a long journey in it yet so cant tell you what it'll do, but no doubt I'll find out soon enough?
Hope that helps you?

i've just come back from cornwall in mine and got 25.6mpg but i wasnt going steady on the motorway there and back which is fairly hilly on the a30 and it was rural / town driving all week. i got 430 out of the tank but i filled it up before it was on red.

Sounds the about the same as mine....420 to 430 from a tank mostly commuting 40 miles to and from work

My last vehicle was a Jeep Cherokee 4ltr petrol auto. Whatever you are getting, just smile as you pass one of them on the road, because they're gettin poor a lot faster than you are.

I only bought my 300 auto a couple of days ago, just been out touring flooded valleys up the top of the Penine Way in the Cheviots, if the fuel gauge is any where close to working, it's good consumption.

hi
just thought i'd throw in t'uppence worth from the dark side...........
My d2 V8 on lpg gets around 14mpg b road / town driving and 17 mpg on a motorway @70mph this is at 52.9p /l so I reckon my v8 is more economical than your 300tdi. And I get a biggger grin when i floor it.....lol

But my 200Tdi runs on BioDiesel @15p per litre... thats 500 miles for £12.75

Last laugh to me I think! :D

I get about 23/25 mpg towing caravan with my 300 auto. Think your mates might need a service :D

put a replacement k&n air filter in also dont put in more than 3qter of a tank of fuel in i found needle moves alot quicker above that and on local runs keep revs below 2000rpm when possible sounds abit penny pinching but it does help
