Well its the my TD4's MOT tomorrow,

I've been around it (going through the MOT checks in the Haynes Manual) and everything was fine yesterday (only had to replace the brake-bulb on the off side rear). This evening checked the lights again - Placement light (same side) has now gone . I knew if i replaced it another would go straight away - i have spares so all is ok - i'll replace it outside the MOT place and hope it holds out.....

Long term fixes? Having had the rear brake light consoles out before i can understand why they go so often - they are completely open to the elements, and as mine is used off-road - often, i need to do something. Could i smear the backs of the consoles in grease? Almost every Freebie i see has a rear light not working!

I was thinking of that - but said the safe one!

Hammond used that on Topgear on one of their treks - even so is it safe to put all around the back of those consoles?

Cheers mate,

Now what am i going to do with a half full pot of vass? Where are those Defender owners l know they need it more than me!

i would defly fix that at home, the contact in the bottom of the holder could be corroded(maybe not).takes a few minutes to fix with a small spring or tinfoil.Id chech that tonight, for peace of mind.

Irish Wolf,

I know mate - i'm going to get up early and have it apart check it - clean it and do whatever needs to be done to get it working -
