MOT and ABS light

Need some help

I know as you all do that the ABS light goes out once you reach 7mph

however the mot was failed as the light didn't extinguish while in the ramp?! How do I get round this as MOT tester being an arsehole
 
Tell him to look at the notes on specific abs light functions as printed on the check sheet, also should be on the wall as with all the emmision control, airbag light , abs light etc or evwn better take it to the local vose office and appeal and that test station will be in a whole world of hurt with possible fine points and suspension of testing.

as tomcat says kick him in the knackers and drop him off somewhere BUT not in Lancashire or Cheshire thank-you !!!!!!

Moss I'm in Lancashire and the test centre is technically in Cheshire (hyde to be exact)

its MOZZ NOT MOSS ,, NEVERMIND ???????? SO WHEREABOUTS ARE YOU THEN ,, AND IVE NEVER HAD THAT PROBLEM IN 8 YEARS OF OWNING P38S ,, CHEERS JOHHNY :):)
 
The tester is a prick and doesn't know what he is doing. At one time you had to be time served and two years experience. Now an NVQ and sweep the garage for a year qualifies you. Bloody ridiculous.
 
We could start a whole new thread on characteristics of the MOT tester.
One of my old 2 door V8 classics got failed on the gearstick being wobbly, & the car tested before mine passed with a horizontal crack straight through the middle of the windscreen.

Sorry mozz stupid phones auto correct

can any one point me to some wording so I'm not just an agro customer but an informed one
 
Be nice, be polite:

'Please can I refer you to the relevant section in the Range Rover owners manual that explains the functionality of the ABS warning light on the P38 model, it's related to the traction control system and needs input from rolling wheels before it will extinguish. I can show you where it is clearly explained?'

The just show him the manual - it's all laid out clearly, if he doesn't get that then kick him inna nuts as suggested by several folk already. If they still won't have it then contact VOSA. I've never had a bother with MOT at all with mine, but I usually have it done at my local LR Indy garage so they know their ****

If you're anywhere near Garstang then I can recommend Claughton Services, they do all my bits and are 100% reliable and not expensive, they are very busy though so you have to wait to get stuff done - but I've never had anything need doing twice there, they really know what they're at with Land Rover motors
 
my tester goes for a drive to check brakes, light goes out then never had any problems it does seam to vary from tester to tester

and did your glasses have a horizontal crack through the middle ??????:eek::eek::eek: I fink this threads gonna go worse :D:D:D I thought it was my eyesight that was bad , , cheers mozz
