After riding from Suffolk to the Sahara and back on two wheels in 2010, I've decided to book a boat to Santander in July, and drive a similar route through Spain and Morocco.
Will post up a trip report when it's all done and dusted.. If anything, it should be warmer summer than staying here :)
We're going over in a 200 tdi disco and same again in a 110.
If anyone else is heading out that way around that time, I'm sure we could arrange a roadside brew-up somewhere en-route :)

Morocco in July..., perhaps if you stay on the coast or high-up in the mountains you won't get toasted. Anywhere near the desert will be scorching hot. I was in Tata last month (southern Morocco) and it was already 40 degrees. In Summer it's frequently in the 50-ies. But sometimes you just don't have a choice.

Happy travels!

I doubt that you will find anyone to meet up for a brew at that time of year

Have a good trip tho. Looking forward to some piccies.

Yeah, It will be hot.. but back in SA, we were used to temp in the 50's, so no biggie.. this crappy weather here has just got me beat down, so roasting hot will do nicely, will post a blog on our return :)

We were going to drive down through Croatia to Greece this summer, but European weather is so crap at the moment (crap here in France at the moment) we are thinking of going back to Morocco for the 3rd Summer on the trot. At least Morocco you can be sure of good weather and that's what we want !

I'm heading out from uk jul 22nd ish hoof down thru France and Spain hopefully tangier around 26th then onwards and upwards :) eid bound to be quiet but Ramadan ive read some very encouraging things....

We're back, and more or less in one piece.. Going over during Ramadan, and the hottest time of the year was great, 47 degrees by 10:30 in the morning, rising to 50's later in the day, Ramadan meant less people about, and the heat was dry, more bearable than UK temp. I'll write a trip report over the coming weeks, and post relevant trip info, vehicle/route info, and of course, pictures.
We've chucked a few pictures up on our workshop page (www.facebook.com/Hangar53)
if you want a sneak preview..
Details to follow in a new thread :)

We also did a 42 km stretch of heavily washed out Piste, between Tamtatoucht, and Msemrir (joins Todra and Dades gorges) constantly traversing rocky river beds, as the roads had been washed out due to rain the previous day.. Here's a link to one of the short video clips we took on what turned into a 5 hour slog in low range 2nd gear.
