Hey, first post here I'am going to buy a 90 land rover defender in the next couple of weeks really impressed by them during my time with the RAF. Anyway I was wondering if it possible to modify the defender with these specs.

Crome grill/wheels
Lowering

I know some may disagree with changing a primarly off road car into a low riding crusier, but I was thinking more of doing what AMG did with the G-Wagon. I have had a look already at websites but there isn't anything so if anybody knows anyone or business that does it.

The person, I bought my landy off fited smaller and wider wheels which lowers the landy slightly but is still good on rough terrain. You can buy a stainless grill and light surrounds from paddocks.

Each to his own, but if you want to do a bad taste conversion you might get good advice on the American LR forum at landroversonly.com!

i dont know if the bolt pattern on all landy defenders is 5 on 6.5 but if it is, then you might be sol for wheels cuz i found one set half way across the country when i was looking for mine...as for a grill, you could probably find one that would fit or make one yourself. and lowering, you might want to look into new suspension, which would probably cost you a grand or more

Shorter springs are available as are polished wheels which will take low profile tyres. You can also buy polished and/or chrome grills or if you are really keen just get an engineering shop to make you one to your own design and then get it chrome-plated.

Beware that lowering the suspension will have some effect on the ride & handling, also your insurance company will need to know.
