I think that there are a few who've done the same, I did some research before I replaced my suspension with standard springs and terrafirma shocks because the general consensus was HD springs in an unladen tratter gives a really hard and bumpy ride.

I haven't really modded mine much, I seem to spend all my time and money replacing worn out stuff at the mo. I do keep looking at winches though as I've bent my front bumper and need to replace it, but in all me off roading exploits I don't think a winch would have helped me out if when I did get stuck

HD springs for me, i fitted them because i was towing a very heavy trailer all the time. when it snowed i found it wouldnt climb a hill that it had flown up before. the hill had a sharp left turn to enter it and the wheels were spinning due to lost articulation.

HD Springs are more designed for a weighted vehicle, if you have a big winch hanging off the front and kit in the back they are great, a standard car with a 2" lift kit on HD springs is just daft, the HD is designed for extra weight so it doesn't dive and wobble under all the extra weight.

The bulkhead panel on mine, wish I had just filled it with fibreglass, painted it and flogged it on, but alas I am not a *cough* so decided to do it properly, 4 years later, finally going back together.

If you are looking at anything on Safari Equips website ring them! Don't order online, the pricing is wrong ( I got a nasty suprise) and the PayPal link dosnt work.

See, that's the thing .. I have a heavy bumper and winch up front, they weigh around 50Kg's and I carry around 200kgs minimum in the back all the time .. but they're still too hard .. hence why I initially went for the +3 VHD .. they were also V cheap. Then dropped back to +2 HD, which are way better, but again very cheap. If I could get +2 or +3 normal duty or medium duty springs at a reasonable cost, ie next to F all, then I'd do it tomorrow ..

I tend not to do mods that physically change the look of my 90, as I know I'll regret them even if they are good as I like stock.

I did however make rock sliders, got them galvanised and painted so happy with them. I've also built a custom front bumper but I think it's pretty harmless. I'll galv it etch and paint it then fit it, if I don't like it I'll sell it.

But that's just me, I know modding is a big thing in the LR scene. I do like doing electrical mods and under engine mods as long as they look smart and almost factory.

Think I could do with one of these . ..so fed up with the racket coming from the back that I got OH to drive whilst I eyeballed the prob , I swear the whole back door seems to be moving

Yes , but it's absolutely tight as a drum , the actual wheel can't be moving , can it?

One thing why I will never ever buy one is, once at a P&P day a 90 was doing a pretty extreme climb. Had a big ass tyre on the swing away, as he ascended the slope the spare caught a rock and well basically forced the spare through the rear window.

Granted a few things had to go right/wrong for this to occur but still they cost a lot and potentially ruin your rear door. Not worth it imo unless you dont leave chelsea.

Out of interested are tyres legal/sae to be mounted on the roof (without a rack)? Could easily fit two up there if needed.

I fitted a Mantec one a couple of hours ago. Can't say how it is on the road, but is very solid and well made and didn't even move with my weight on it!

these are the best ive fitted thought they do make them for other retailers who sell them as their own

I regret the roof lights on the front and work light on the back. Could probably get more light from four candles!

+1 fooked me UJ's and me had to lift twin axle trailer up in the air to get on tow bar leaving 2 wheels off the ground

Also handled like a piece of ****e- also took them all off after a few weeks !

Whyever on earth did I fit two rear bench seats to my 90, total and utter waste of both time and money. Would love two folding front facing rear seats for the kids.
