hello lads,i,ve changed my coolant temp sensor due to bad starting problem, the car now starts first time but only after counting for about 7 secs?but for some reason i,ve lost the glow plug light on the dash:confused:,i,ve checked and theres 12volts at the g/plugs,what controls the cycle light, where does it get its power from?any ideas much appreciated thanks

The engine ECU controls the glowplugs and the light dependant on the coolant temperature sensor, not sure if it goes via the BECM without looking at RAVE tho.
If the glowplugs are operating, it must be a bad connection somewhere or you are just unlucky and the bulb has gone.

Glow light is controlled by ECM linked through that from glowplug relay. Glow light will not come on when engine is warm. With glow relay activated (12 vlots at plugs) it should be lit. Maybe as Data says bulb has blown.

cheerslads,i,ve got a spare relay i,ll chuck in,before i start ripping the dash apart.seems a little strange that its gone just because i,ve changed the coolant sensor, anyone had a dud sensor?

dud sensor would be a possibility, but you say you are getting 12 volts at the glowplugs so the light should be on.
