Hi

Misfire on Cylinder 7 & Multiple occurrence Flashing engine management light as I rev or accelerate. When revs are higher you can still feel it but not much. Light still flashes. Little pools of oil in where spark plugs are screwed in. Too much oil in the car. I topped it up and someone else topped it up for me. Not completely sure whats going on but I am thinking oil.

Took plug 7 out oil pool in recess and round top of plug on screw thread, so not sure if this is the cause ? Dried it and clean surplus oil put back and still doing it.

Test yet to do

Swap the plug round to see if the issue follows.

Swap the Ignition Coil Pack round and see if follows.

Drain some oil

Are there any things to be careful of or gotchas

Whats the easiest way to drain some oil bar sump plug if any

Any advice would be greatful

Oil in the plug wells can cause misfire...if you have cleaned them out and also the ignition stem, oil can degrade the rubber stem and cause flash over preventing the plug from firing correctly....if it is still there then I'd be inclined to swap the coil for another cylinder and see if the fault follows...

I had this a few weeks ago....cyl 6 misfires, flashing CEL etc....swapped to position 3 and the fault followed. changed for a new coil and all is good again.

Excellent

I will do that tomorrow morning.
So its not dangerous to leave all covers off and switch coils and start.
Need to drain the oil a bit. Sump plug then...
