Hi All,
I changed my R380 gearbox oil this weekend due to 2nd being a little stiff to get into gear, thought i should treat it to a spot of new oil!

Its now more difficult to get in all the gears!!!!! (until warmed) Surely this shouldnt be the case should it?

Im not sure if i should put a little more in it, park the vehicle a little uneven and top it up a bit.. Maybe that will get it working a little better?

I believe that's why LR specified ATF in the first place. Nothing wrong with the Miller oil it's the same spec as most but not all of the other MTF oils GL4 75w-80

Just realised i put Miller Oil, I meant to put MORRIS oils! The Lodexol specifically designed for the R380. (Or so they say)

Your not wrong... here's their spec copied from their site. It the same 75w 80 GL4 just a bit lower than my diff/trans oil that's 80w-90 GL4

Product Information
LODEXOL MTF
Description
Lodexol MTF is a high performance manual transmission fluid manufactured from a
combination of the latest non-conventional base fluid technology and additive chemistry.
This grade has excellent stay-in-grade performance, which provides good oil viscosity and
film thickness ensuring the effective protection of gear components from wear and scuffing.
Highly effective extreme pressure and anti-wear additives give all round protection over a
wide range of operating conditions and loads. Lodexol MTF has also been designed to
provide excellent cold start fluidity, eliminating 'cold baulking' but promoting light and easy
gear shifts.
Applications
Recommended for use in syncronised manual transmission systems, transaxles and transfer
boxes (non-hypoid) fitted to passenger cars. Particularly suited for use in the R380 gearbox
fitted in Land Rover and Ranger Rover models and the PG1 gearbox used in Land Rover
Freelander, MG-F and Rover models. This grade may also be used in certain Honda
designs where an oil of this type is specified.
