engine series number is 57117147. Assuming this is a replacement 2litre from a later model perhaps Series 2.

Any thoughts?

also looking to restore my bulkhead - good but patched. Anyone know of Gloucestershire based restorer ?

Are you a series 1 member? There are a good few people on there for restoration info.
(You can buy new S1 bulkheads but unsure of the lead time or cost)

Yep that is an early engine. Should be a bored out 1600cc to 2ltr engine you can’t tell until you open them up what CC they are.

Thanks Phil. That explains the engine number. Couldn’t find it as a facTory supplied with number starting 5.
