Now, I knew swapping my Ford Mondeo for a Land Rover was never going to help fuel economy, so I'm not here to moan! I'm quite happy paying all that money on diesel for the amount of pleasure driving a land rover gives me!
However, should my 1997 300TDi 147,000 mile auto Discovery which has been raised 2", has slightly larger off-road tyres, sump guard, diff guards, spotlight bar, spotlights, and snorkel get between 21 and 23 miles per gallon?
I think it should, but thought I'd ask just for comparison! The 21 mpg tends to happen when part of the tank is spent towing, and the 23 mpg tends to happen when i accelerate slowly, drive carefully etc. it seems reasonable to me.
What do you other people get?
My mileage, by the way, can be kept track of here: 1997 Land Rover Discovery Mileage
