Hi. I have a silly idea to make a series III 88 camper. Even sillier since i don’t have a landy.
So I need your help with measurements to see the possibilities and if its reasonably possible.

I found out that the cargo area is about 1200 millimetres but I need some more obscure measurements about the tub and doors. All questions assume that the top is off and measurements are made on the galv railing (as if you’re going to put on a canvas topper)
1. Length of panel from door until back corner ( my estimate is about 1400 mm)
2. Length from corner to corner.
3. Length from galv railing to top of door.
4. Length of the door top.
5. Width of the front windscreen.

I would be very thankful if someone could help with these measurements!

There is a line drawing somewhere ont’ t’inteweb with measurements. I know I used to have a copy but can’t find it now.

If you don't have the vehicle you would probably be better using a 109?
I originally bought my 109 with a view to make a camper but when I actually started looking at how much space was inside and how cramped it would be I went and bought a hi top VW Transporter instead:D
I suppose it depends what season, how many folk will be in it and how much you like your comfort I suppose.................

I have had a look around and the drawing I have found here is a coachmakers drawing of a 109 which gives all the measurements of the chassis in relation to the cab. But I will take a look around again.

A 109 would be a smarter choice but yeah the idea of a 88 camper is to fun.
The plan would be a pop top camper as the ones Fourwheelcampers made for the 1970s Ford bronco. A small kitchen area with standing height in the back and bed in the cab over area, all that i need. But yes, a silly idea
