It's very sturdy by comparison to the Freelander but then the design is much more modern.
The Freelander isn't to bad in the real world. Luckily we generally don't crash into a deformable block securely fastened to 100 tons of concrete!!

There is a TD4 auto HSE '56 blue 5 door for sale at a local dealership for £8495 with 70,000 miles and at least 2 owners. Probably more.
