Matrix problem

Hi all

Original matrix went last year so fitted new, if I remember rightly it only has 14 cores instead of 22 and its never blown as hot since, but anyway, now this one's gone aswell so was just wondering if anyone knows of good quality replacements or where I can find original at non stealer prices

Yeah it looks like that cheers, I don’t want to fit another 14 core one tho, the heater just wasn’t up to the job last winter and she used to have a brilliant heater (presuming the difference between 14 and 22 cores is why) so wondered if genuine can be found at reasonable prices

The one in at the mo is blue box sold by a local reputable company who will swap for another no probs but I'm thinking of finding a genuine second hand one and trying it with some pipe and mittyvac to check it's OK, the heater was really really poo last year

So still not sorted this yet but need heat now

Has anyone managed to seal up their old matrix with chemical metal, jb weld or anything like that

A friend repaired his car rad using jb weld-steel, the area needed to be keyed so ruffed up a bit and in six minutes job done, and lasted.

Can't you get it re-cored like a regular radiator?

I didn’t know if products like that would take the constant heat cycles and stay good, using it’s just a thought

Yeah there’s a place a few miles away can do it but about £120, 45 mins drive each way and he’s open the same hours I’m at work which is annoying so was looking looking at options at the mo, cheers tho

Desperate for a matrix now but don’t want to have to keep doing the job, are all aftermarket ones the same as each other, ie 14 core or not
