This may be of interest to someone. Problem with brake pedal slowly sinking to the floor so decided that a master cylinder repair was needed. Ordered a kit which oddly appeared with a new reservoir. Went to fit it and discovered that this repair kit was just a kit to replace the reservoir. (Since discovered that you can't get a kit for a D2 master cylinder)

2 days later the clutch stopped working. Decided that I must have got some air in the clutch so tried to bleed it. Finally realised that the moulded pipe fitting on the bottom of the brake fluid reservoir that feeds the clutch was blanked off. You have to cut the end of the fitting off.

Britpart of course. I don't know if it was just a fault or they're all like that.

Incidentally, bleeding the clutch is a sod. Ended up improvising a pressure bleeding system from one of those pump up garden sprays. Waste of a whole morning. Next job is to get a replacement brake master cylinder. Should of done that in the first place.

same reservoir is used for automatic models

the clutch is hard to bleed only if the cylinders(especially the slave) are old... with new(or at least unworn) cylinders it's piece of cake with the front of the car lifted and the bleed tube + funnel attached method, after max 10 pedals it's free of air, never took me more than 10 minutes tops

That's a good point. I have got a new clutch slave cylinder I've been meaning to change for ages. Any issues with fitting a new one? Biggest risk seems to be losing the push rod into the bell housing.
