Hi,

I am having a problem with lack of power from my 1998 4.0l, from what i can gather it could be the mass air flow sensor.

If I clean it would I see improvment staight away or would it need a run? if cleaning does not work is it worth replacing or getting to garage to be plugged in?

also do i need to get the ECU adaptive fuel settings ) reset once cleaned or is cleaning/replacing enough.

The Maf failing is one of many possible reasons why your car is lacking power - the best way to find out is a quick diagnostic session.20 mins with someone who knows what to look for should tell you what is wrong.Cleaning Mafs rarely works on Gems equipped cars, and can wreck them.Cheap E-bay ones are rubbish,I've yet to see one work properly.

Cheer for the info

can anyone recommend a garage in Lancashire, i know of a few and heard pros and cons with them all, anyone that can point me in the right direction would be good
