Does anyone have experience of Masai sliding windows (normal not panoramics)? I want to fit some sliders into mine, but have been told Britpart are known for leaking and landrover originals seem alot more expensive.

Landy originals leak.

People slate **** part but forget why they are buying the part anyway, normally cos the genuine item is ****. But we still love em.

My gen ones leek like buggery, you have to rinse it from the front when washing it!!

I bought me a set of these couple of weeks ago, nice size, quality looks fine,
cant say if they leak as i haven't fitted them yet.
booked in for 2 weeks time.
I would say looking at mine how can you tell what will leak and what won't
seal them in well and the only place i can imagine them leaking is between the glass

Hi Goldilocks

I had mine fitted by them back in November last year....all I can say is wow...very happy with the results. I took the better half with me and they had my Landy from 9am till 5pm and they were so kind as to drop us off in the local town (Litchfield) which we found plenty to do and eat and spend spend spend....

They then picked us up and really gave us the personal touch so I highly recommend, great people to know and I will return for some more of their other products....

I could of fitted them myself if I had the time and the workshop and for a cheaper price but as it was such a hugh task I let them do it..

As for leaks??? NONE - I take it to the power jet wash after muddy days and it is totally fine. I think they make the vehicle but thats personal tast.

Please find attached some piccys (we all love piccys right?) :D

Give me a shout if you would like to know more details.

Cheers
Jase

I looked into these and decided not to after I ended up having to do a lot of research into glass for another project. They look good and in an ideal world would be fine but security wise they are easy to break - I guess not much easier than a standard tempered glass side windows.

So I am getting 6.2mm laminiated glass side & rear windows which will simply go in with auto glass seals. I currently have sliding windows but A - I never really use them, B - they rattle, C - they leak and D - I have a garden growing in the rails.

Thanks guys, Defender90uk, your truck does look the nuts, I take it the panoramicks have cope ok with off roading? I was actually only going to get the slide windows and put grills over the top, but yours do look good.

Discomania, I see your point but I wanted to put them in for the dogs really so they can have a bit more fresh air.

Thanks for teh advice guys!:)

I got mine fitted at a local garage for 40£ per window and they did a bloody good job of it as well. Mine were just replacing old clear windows but the Masai ones were slightly bigger so they had to recut the hole anyway.

Me and my dad did mine,he made a template out of quarter plywood and we cut the panels out with a jig saw.
I liked the fact we were in charge of the whole thing,so we made sure the sealant was a good bead and the pop rivets were flush, etc.
Learning the way with the first one, and being a bit over the top careful, it took us an hour and a half to do the first side, but the second side took us less than an hour.
They look fantastic, as far as I am concerned.
