They ordered the wrong ends 12mm need 14mm and forgot my 3/8" female ends.

Hopefully next Saturday now

Car is now leaving little puddles of CCF, inclduing one outside of Redline Hydraulics

This is how I will bleed it

The 4 ram pipes

I am not happy with the HP pipes as the pillock used 3/8 BSP when I asked for 3/8 pipe clamp

The leaks are partly cold climate fluid and partly engine oil from somewhere

Front ones are terrible, will get them to make some ones as I originally requested as they messed up, cannot fit them as too large

Went to pick up new front to pump and

1) They knew nothing

2) Those horrors were there for me

So

I have ordered two of these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331880429373

And will be orderring two 1/4BSP male to male.

I hope next week is dry

Anyway

6 x 1/4" BSP female to male connector
4 x 1/4" BSP female to male swivels
4 x 14mm Banjo fittings to pipe
8 x 1/4" BSP male to pipe
10 x 1/4" BSP Dowty washers
8 x LR ACE ram washers
4 x LR ACE ram nuts
2 x 1/4" BSP male to 3/8" O/D compression
Pipe lengths to be confirmed but I aimed for
1990 A
1940 A
2490 A
2440 A
930 B
880 B

A BSP ==== Banjo
B BSP ==== BSP & compression

Be aware that the HP hose from pump to valve block is special, it has a damper within and if it's missing the system will be annoyingly noisy, IMO only this one pipe shluld be bought from the store
RAVE - ACE - Description and operation :
The flexible hose which supplies pressure from the pump to the supply pipe attached to the front cross member is
fitted with an attenuator. The attenuator comprises a bullet shaped valve which is located between two spiral wound
springs held at each end of the flexible hose. This valve operates as a restrictor to damp pressure waves of hydraulic
fluid from the pump, reducing noise and strain on components downstream. The attenuator is integral with the supply
hose and pipe and cannot be serviced separately.

Ooh, well spotted. And the runs from pump to block must be longer than 990 / 830mm surely? What route do they take?

Sadly my current Disco doesn't have ACE, but if I still had the old one I'm sure your work on this would have come in very useful!

Oh yes, looks to be a joint in the pipe, just after it turns to run along the chassis rail to the block - looks like item 11 joins up with item 13, then off to the block.

Hence the compression fitting, as soon as it is in the engine bay the surface rust appears to have gone

Compression fitting onto metal pipe!

Front of block from top to bottom 1234

Pipes on front chassis from top to bottom ABCD

2A - back of front ram
1B - front of front ram
4C
3D

2A, 1B and 3D are fitted.

My 2.5m pipes are too long I suggest 2.35m

The front ram pipes do seem like they are too bulky and in the way.

Tomorrow I will fit 4D and work on cable tying the pipes out of the way.

Tempted to not swap the rear ARB as I am shattered.

Thursday will be P clip purchase and fit.

Worst job was removing the pressure sensor wire off the old ACE block.

At the back 5 is upper 6 is lower
On ram A is front, B is back

5A
6B

Drop links were an effing nightmare, had to change rear ARB as the original was very rusty.

No leaks so far.

nearly 2l of CCF to fill it

Sort of works as I am getting error 18

Is this air or a faulty sensor.

I do have Hawkeye

The pump pipes are too small, and I have having my original block converted just in case

Measure the transducer's resistance on both blocks and compare... if you do that please tell me that resistance, i've had it saved somewhere but i can't find it
