Same problem in my 51 Td4 ES 5dr. I tried prising the unit out of the headlining but couldn't. The rear edge comes down OK but it felt like something might break if I pulled any harder to get the unit out. Any trick to doing this?

hi make sure u undo the 2 star shaped screws inside the main bulb cover take off the plastic cover 1st undo then the unit will come out most of the time if u have a sunroof they leak in to the electrics and blow so make sure u check the fuses hope that helps

yeah pull it off, disconnect the plug from the circuit board and get a nail file from glove box or bit of emery board and clean the contacts, the earth is the issue here I expect. Exactly the same as mine ages ago.

This is going to sound odd, but "map reading lights"? Where? TD4 ES 2002 I have no such thing (and now feel like I'm missing out) :(

Three light switches above the mirror - no? :(

LR jokingly call the outside 2 'map-reading lights'.

My 2004 HSE has them - maybe earlier or other spec don't.

Better not mention my rear doors then, or some folks will want some of them too! Ha Ha.
