P38A Manual gearbox - neutral switch

Hi

Is it possible / practical to change this without a ramp and dropping the transmission.

It seems to be impossible, but I might not be trying hard enough!

If anyone has successfully done this, I'd like to hear about it...

I tried on mine and could not manage it, I don't know if you can if you drop the gearbox x member
what is the problem, if its cant select low range I pulled the plug of the switch and bridged it with wire and that worked, I did change the switch when I dropped the box but it still didn't work, there is a plastic collar on the shaft that works the switch and that is a known problem.

Reverse light switch yes but not the neutral. Try as per Brian's post

I've already bridged the wires on the transfer box controller. I was contemplating fixing it properly but it's looking like it isn't worth the trouble...

the stupid thing is I got a new switch and it came with the plastic bit but I didn't change that so it still didn't work, will do it next time box is out as there will probably be a next time.

I think I have a worn bearing on fifth so may change box, mind its been like it for 8 years so has a bit of drone from back ,have changed diff still there.
