L322 manual gear box

Don't be put off, maybe 'you' are the one that can show us the way.

Bmw stable is what you need (I'd imagine) and don't forget, once you remove the over-large auto brake pedal there will be plently of room for three.

Yes I agree.

However he LT95 in the early years wasn't particularly reliable and the noise was horrific
Range Rover got its act together in 1982 with the Chrysler 727 Auto which is regarded to be the best/robust gearbox fitted to the Range Rover.

Then they went to the ZF4HP box which is pretty good if maintained.

Overfinch when fettled with the 570i and 630i fitted the GM 700r4 which is bombproof a derivative of the turbo 400.

Then they decided in the L322 to fit the shíttest gearbox to a 3 tonne bus.
A Gearbox which even before the L322's conception didn't have a good reputation, did they rectify anything when used in their iteration?
NOPE!!
It would barely handle the 328i and they thought it would cope with the L322..

What a bunch of....................

Then they went with the ZF6hp26 which is a great box..

The L322 is built with Auto in mind, the footwell is narrower than that in a Series II Jag.. ;)
