need to make an oil pick up pipe..its for my 72 toyota v8 powered rangie..it has a front sump which i have modded ages ago to clear the diff, but now its time for supercharger, hense air suspension(going lower when at speed)..but first i need to fit my new sump i have made so as i can go lower without diff hitting sump..(one of the reasons car is up+2 or more inches.)

so.... sump made, but need to extend oil pickup pipe back and down a few inches...its 25mm thin wall steel..cant find any with inside dia 25mm (so can slide over and braze)and that i can bend without creasing...

got any ideas?

25mm galv conduit and a coupler grind out thread and braze it

I have 25mm die too

1 inch - 25 mm seamless tube 1/16 inch - 1.63mm wall. £7.00 for 700 mm on eBay including post. Could be heated and stretched to fit. Remember to anneal after stretching and brazing.

aha..

thanks for replys...

tried hydrolic shop first..

ruled out any compression joints as they can come loose..not good..

braided i did think of but compressor joints ruled that out..

plastic...abit too much lateral thinking maybe?lol.

thought of conduit but its coated..so no go,the coating can/will become dislogded with the heat (of brazing)and bits will flake off in time and head into the oil pump...

wammewrs seems the best, but it needs to be 25mm inside dia..i really dont like the idea of butt welding/brazing it all together..so looking for 25mm id steel tube anyone?

Make a steel die with a lead on it same o/d as your oil pipe. Heat seamless tube cherry red and press die into it. It should them slide over and can be brazed. Or make a 25mm i/d sleeve but pipes inside sleeve and braze that. Lots of ways to join them, if your a good gas welder butt welding should be good enough. Don't use conduit it is not seamless. You need seamless tube for this job.
