Main Rear Cross Beam Defender 90

My defender 90 main rear beam (the one the body looks like it sits on and the towing drop plate is bolted to) is painted black. At least I think its painted black, it reminds me of black anodising, is going rusty. This is affecting the galvanised bolts too. I was going to get a proper paint job done on it. Anyone done anything similar?

No, just buffed it back with a flap disc on a grinder an blathered it in Hammerite
