Main dealer cambelt cost

Hi,

was in a LR dealer (Nelson)chatting to their helpful service staff whilst waiting for the parts guy to come out.

I have a 2002 1.8 Serengeti with 103k miles and jut asked how much?

This is just a renewal of belt(they didnt mention tensioner) £335 inc vat.
She also mentioned a value service of £199 and would do a free mot at the same time too.
I know I can get a good service cheaper or do it myself, but they tried to reduce their costs for older cars!

My LR local dealer wanted £560 plus vat!!!! for just a cambelt change!!

Whats other peoples experiences?

Main dealer wanted £602+vat to only do the belts on ma v6, including all required parts.

£560 + Vat for less than £100 of parts and 2.5hrs work!! I need start a main dealership!
