That is here the question.

Hello All,

don't know if that MAF is really a weak point in the TD4, but somehow it drives me nuts. After having
a cheap Chinese one in some month' ago, I've changed for a Bosch one some weeks ago. Fuel con went to 12l/100km or 23mpg, thought it would be the rail sensor so have changed that one eventually, but it got even worse. After about 70 mi from Saturday on, the tank was 1/4 empty the day before yesterday, yesterday after 84mi it was almost half empty plus it doesn't drive as good. After the 23mpg I unplugged it and it went up to 33 and then 36 mpg mostly innercity after I had the sensor out, not renewed yet.
Will unplug it again, but am wondering what else could be wrong. Inlet manifold should be not too bad after 8 month I guess, pcv doesn't have 6k yet, maybe 3.
I am still into getting the MAF disconnected with the temp. sensor still connected, but am not sure how to find out which of the contacts is for the temp sensor. In the Haynes Freelander Cookbook I found a picture as attached. Are the numbers on the right for the pins in the black box/ECU/CCU etc.?

Is there anything else which I could check as I can't think that the MAF is dead or malfunctioning except for if it's a general problem, but then how did they get the pretty good fuel con when introducing the car?. The only values that I've seen from a proper MAF were from @andyfreelandy I think.
As said am not sure if that's related to each other, but somehow it seems like.
